I can't tell you specifically how a wiring harness you purchased from a competitor will install. The harnesses we offer for a 1994 Ford Ranger, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118325, Curt T-Connector # C55325 and Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # 40215 are all extraordinarily easy plug-in connectors.
What I can offer you are general guidelines on how to splice in a 4-flat. What you will need in order to do this are the Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979 as well as at least four Quick Splices # SWC502905-1. Then you will need to use your circuit tester and engage your turn signals and tail lights, using the circuit tester to verify this.
I have added a link to a help article on trailer wiring for you to check out as well which I very strongly recommend reading.
