Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer with Brakes Using a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse
Question:
Will this work with my 2017 Chevrolet Traverse once I install the 118271 wiring kit? Thanks! Also, I think I know all the parts we need to set up our vehicle for towing but when reading my owners manual it states “the fuse for this circuit is installed in the underhood electrical center, but the wires are not connected” any idea if this is a problem when doing the basic wiring for towing?

Yes, the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 will work perfectly on your 2017 Chevrolet Traverse once you install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118271. The only the thing you will need is a bracket for the trailer connector, I recommend the Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket part # PK12711U.
To complete your towing setup, you will also need a trailer hitch. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75528 because of the increased capacity and the receiver tube fits behind the knockout panel (see photo).
In regards to the note in your owner's manual, this is for the brake output wire that connects to a standard brake controller. Since you are using the Curt Echo you don't need to worry about this at all. There is no dealer programming or anything like that required.
