Kuat Transfer 1 or Sherpa 2.0 For Transporting 1 Bike and Storing in Apartment

Question:

I am thinking of buying Kuat Sherpa or Inno Tire Hold. For now, I just need to carry one bike. I live in a high rise apartment and I might need to take it off this means carrying it up the elevators Would this be difficult to do in terms of space? I do carry my bike up/down the apartment and that has not been an issue. What do you recommend? Sounds like Sherpa is better product. But perhaps Transfer is more convenient to carry + can support unto 3 bikes.

For your application I really like the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack # TS01B because of its versatility and ease of transport.

As you mentioned the Kuat Transfer can be expanded to carry 2 bikes using the 1 Bike Add On # TSAOB down the line if needed but in the meantime the 1 bike design is just going to give you a lighter and smaller rack to carry around and up/down an elevator. The Transfer 1 weighs just a couple ounces over 26 pounds compared to 32 pounds on the Kuat Sherpa # SH12B. That difference doesn't seem like a whole lot but those pounds add up real quick when you're lugging the rack up and down stairs or maneuvering it between fellow apartment mates in a small elevator.

The Kuat Transfer # TS01B also features a lot of the same premium benefits of the Sherpa but without the premium price tag. It uses ratcheting padded hooks to secure the bike by its front wheel without any frame contact, an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin that greatly reduces any movement inside the hitch during travel, an easy-to-use foot pedal that allows you to tilt the rack back for easy cargo access, and it can hold a bike of up to 40 pounds. I do just recommend adding locks with the Lock Set # ATSCLK11011 to help secure your investments.

I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.
