Trailer Hitch Fit for 2019 Chevy Equinox Diesel
Question:
I see that there is a note: except diesel. I know that Chevy reduces the towing capacity for the diesel, because of transmission cooling issues. However, I have a 500 pound carrier. Will this hithch FIT on my vehicle? And will the class 3 also FIT.

For a 2019 Chevy Equinox Diesel the trailer hitch you need is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76217, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver, 4,500 lb towing capacity and 675 lb tongue weight capacity. The hitch you referenced, part # 76419, is not a fit for a Diesel because it would interfere with the urea tank. The instructions are linked for you to check out so you can see how Trailer Hitch # 76217 will install in your Diesel Equinox.
To add trailer wiring to your '19 Equinox, if you do NOT have the factory tow package and your Equinox is NOT a Premier model you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118750; if you have the Premier model you will need Wiring Harness # 118759.
I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop – along with a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise.
