Can Hitch Extender be Used to Help Get Boat Trailer Further into Water to Launch It

I have a pontoon boat, that must floats off to lanch it. Thought I could use the extension to get into water further?

Depending on how the angle of the ramp changes a super long extension may not be a great idea as it would either point the nose of the trailer up super high or down to low.
The longest extension we have for a 2 inch hitch is 18 inches and it would be part # ST18 that you referenced.
Using this hitch extender cuts the tongue weight capacity of the hitch it is used on by one-third, while most others reduce it by a half.
