Is Lateral Stabilization Required for the Titan Hitch Extension for 2-1/2 inch Hitches When Towing

What type of lateral support is needed with this extended hitch when towing loads up to 7000 lbs? Does Reese make chains that can be used to stabilize the lateral load momentum?

I spoke with my contact at Reese and as long as you are using the Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2 inch Trailer Hitches, item # RP45292, at the 24 inch extension length, there are no stabilization chains or cables required.
Since your trailer is over 6,000 pounds you would not be within the capacity of the Titan Hitch Box Extension at the 34 inch extension, so you will be limited to the 24 inch extension.
Reese does not make stabilization chains and does not recommend welding or grinding on the # RP45292 extension.
