Which Extension For Towing Boat Trailer With Truck Bed Camper In 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Question:
I am putting an 8-7 truck camper on a 6-5 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6 inch lift. What length extension do I need to be able to tow my 20ft bass boat behind it. The picture below is only a sample it is not mine. That is a 5-5 bed with no lift. Mine is a 6-5 with a six inch pro comp lift and airbags.

The longest extension available that will work with the factory trailer hitch receiver on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the Draw-Tite Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 18" Long # HE18. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver to the edge of your truck bed camper to see if this extension is long enough.
Keep in mind that a hitch extender like the # HE18 will reduce your trailer hitch receivers capacities by 50%, and has a max tongue weight rating of 350lbs and a max trailer weight rating of 3500lbs.
If the # HE18 is not long enough or your boat trailer exceeds the mentioned capacities there is not a way to safely tow your boat trailer with your truck while the truck bed camper is installed.
I included a video of the # HE18 for you to take a look at.
