Parts for 2016 Honda Accord Sport to Allow Towing a Trailer
Question:
I have a 2016 Honda Accord sport. I transport Italian ice to events. The push is weights 200 pounds empty and about 350 pounds with four 5 gallons can of ice in them. I was wondering if my car could tow a pushcart picture attached safely. I wanted to see if I could add this hitch to and carrier to a Honda accord

To transport your Italian Ice cart on your 2016 Honda Accord you would need a hitch that has enough weight capacity for the combined weight of the 350-lb loaded cart plus the weight of the hitch carrier you load it on.
Unfortunately, the only hitches available for your 2016 Honda Accord are the light-duty Class I type, like Curt Hitch item # C11681, which have a maximum weight capacity of only 200-lbs. So unfortunately, there is no way to use a hitch cargo carrier on this vehicle for your cart.
However, with this hitch installed you could tow a small utility trailer like the K2 # K2MMT4X6 which we offer as a kit, or one that is likely to be offered by a local outdoor or farm type store. These are often available for just a few hundred dollars, and they are often available with a loading ramp.
To tow a trailer like this you will need the hitch # C11681, a ball mount # 3593 and a matching hitch ball to fit the coupler on the trailer, such as 1-7/8-inch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258. If the trailer has lights, you'll also need a wiring harness like # C56299.
