Troubleshooting Blwon/Melted Fuse for Landing Gear on a 2007 Keystone Montana 5th Wheel

I just replaced the gear reducer and installed new switch to raise and lower landing gear. When running the motor the wires got hot and burned out the 30 amp inline fuse on my 2007 Montana 5th wheel.

The best place to start looking when you have wiring issues are your grounds. It is possible that you have a bad ground which is cause this excessive heat you mentioned. Make sure they are all securely connected to a clean, bare-metal surface as even paint can be a problem.
