What is Length of Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17132
Question:
What is the length of this shank? I have a Ram 2500 with 2.5inch receiver and Equalizer 8inch 2.5inch x 12inch shank but I cant open the truck tailgate with the trailer hooked up. I need an additional 1-2inch of extension. Does anyone make a longer shank with large for the newer 4x4 trucks that sit so high? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The overall length of the Curt weight distribution shank part # C17132 is 12-1/2 inches. This is a couple inches longer than most shanks so it should work well for you, but since I don't know the current length of your shank it's hard to say that for certain. Most 2-1/2 inch Equalizer brand shanks are about the same overal length but they have the hitch pin moved quite a bit closer to the vertical portion of the shank so the Curt would easily stick out further than what you have most likely.
