Weight Distribution System for a 2006 Ford F-350 and 14,000 Pound Work and Play 34 WRS Trailer
Question:
Tow Vehicle: 2006 Ford F350 Super Duty Dual and is equipped with Air Bags Trailer: Work and Play 34WRS 40foot total length 14000 GTWR but weighs in closer to 13200 fully loaded with our belongings. Currently using air bags and single sway control bar but getting a lot of road walking. What WD system would you recommend? Also in using a WD system would you keep the air bags empty?

A single sway control bar is only good for trailers up to 6,000 pounds and up to 25 foot, 11 inch long trailers so that is at least part of the problem you are having. But not to worry because it is a problem that is easily remedied with the proper weight distribution system.
To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
It looks like the tongue weight of your Work and Play 34WRS is upwards of around 1,700 pounds, possibly more. That is something you will want to confirm. I have included a link to a help article on determining tongue weight. We also have tongue weight scale # e99044 which maxes out at 2,000 pounds.
There aren't a whole lot of systems that are rated for this much tongue weight, but we do have some options. Blue Ox SwayPro system # BXW2003 is rated for up to 2,000 pounds tongue weight. It was designed for bottom mount couplers but could still be used. The included shank fits a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening. It has built in sway control as well. For a compatible ball use # 63840.
We also have the TorkLift Everest system # TLWD1000 which is an absolute beast. It is rated for 1,500 to 3,000 pounds tongue weight. But it only works with TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum dual-receiver trailer hitches which for your 2006 Ford F-350 is # TLF1002-30. If you happen to have this hitch or want to install it then you would need shank # TLM9010 or # TLM9011. And you would need ball # C40085.
When using weight distribution with a vehicle that has air bag helper springs you don't have to run the bags at the minimum psi. You can couple the trailer, engage the weight distribution spring bars, and then add air as needed to the air springs.
