I had to replace both mine on a 2009 Triton 20XS. The first was very difficult to install. The second went in with no problems once I figured out how to do it. A coat hanger and small hands are a must. Use the coat hanger to push out the old and then guide and pull in the new. Be careful not to snag your cables though. The only issue I had with the product is on the low profile kit for my boat the screws needed to be longer and smaller diameter. On the housing on one rod buckle the back fell off so I just taped it back on. It is primarily a dust cover anyway. One other note you may have to flip one upside down depending on your hull. I didn't put the catch plates on as mine still lock down tight.
This what I needed for my BassCat. There is no room for a gunnel install. I'll install on the deck.

Working nicely as designed. Wish etrailer offered steps for trailer to boat. As i age they are soon to be a necissity
it was a little bit of work to install them on my boat but well worth the time. Well worth the money would recommend them
I bought the kit from etrailer that came with the concealed kit. Came with everything I needed. Made installtion easy and it looks great.

product is a replacement. It took me about 2 minutes to install it. Very pleased with the product and timely shipping from etrailer!
Nothing bad about etrailer. They are a wonderful company to deal with. I ordered two (2) RodBuckle Tie-Down Straps. One broke after 2 pulls. That is a 50% failure rate. However, I called etrailer and they are sending me a replacement asap. Now that is customer service. Sure wish an American company would manufacture a "metal" tie-down ratchet strap. These RodBuckles are cheaply made of plastic and made in Mexico.
When I was originally researching this product it appeared as if it wouldn't work on my 1995 Aluminum Bass Tracker. I really liked the style and decided to order it and give it a try. I installed it flat on the deck near the gunwale. It installed easily and has worked exactly as it should. Very functional for keeping my rods safe and secure while traveling either on the road or water. Very pleased with my purchase.

The Rod Buckle replaced a broken one on a Triton bass boat. Works as well as the one that came with the boat. etrailer.com got right on the order and I had it in a few days. Price with shipping was reasonable as well.

Very quality and works great, I will never be without one
This RodBuckle is an exact replacement for the one that failed on my 10-year-old Triton. While slightly challenging to install it using the concealed method, I was able to do it in half-an-hour or so. eTrailer exceeded my expectations by shipping quickly and I had it in just a couple of days. Not my first order with eTrailer - they always are great and have been very helpful when I call with questions.

Has worked flawlessly after one year
Turned out well but the instructions are poor. The picture shows the concealed unit mounted in a glass boat. If you have a glass boat you better make sure you have access under the deck to get up inside the gunnel. I mounted mine in an aluminum bass boat where I had access but it was still somewhat of a difficult job. The manufacturer needs better instructions. A video of the installation process on youtube sure would help.
I purchased a rod buckle about 1 year ago and it is working as well or better than the original. Glad to know these folks are still out there providing us with quality parts and the crazy world we live in has not shut down their business. Look forward to doing business with them again in the future.
