Curt Stabilization Strap # 18050 Recommended Versus Required for Warranty on Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
Your web site states the Curt Class III hitch for the 2015 Subaru Outback Per Curt warranty requirements, all non-trailer loads bike racks, cargo carriers, etc must be supported by stabilizing straps, such as 18050, sold separately. I cant find any mention of this requirement on the Curt web site. My installer flat out doesnt believe this and wants to see that requirement stated by Curt. Can you assist?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver- Class III # C13206 doesn't require stabilization strap # 18050 any longer. Curt used to require it and has recently soften their wording to simply recommend because many customers were not happy with it. We are updating our website as we find their changes from "Required" verbiage to "Recommended". You can see this in the upper right hand of the instruction link I've attached.
