One of the best brake controllers we offer is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195, because it is so easy to install and operate. This will work with electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. Since the Winnebago Journey Motorhome is built on a 2006 Freightliner XC-Series Chassis, the # 3027-P harness is the correct harness to use.

If your Winnebago Journey already has a 4 and 7-way trailer connection, one end of the custom adapter plugs into your vehicle, and the other end plugs into the controller with no hardwiring required.

If you don't have one, you would first install a 4-Way flat # C59496 and then a 7-way trailer connector using our 7-Way install kit # ETBC7. There will not be a connector under the dash for the brake controller, it will need to be hardwired in. These connectors are necessary to operate and control you trailer's brakes and lights. You will also need some extra wire # 10-2-1 due to the length of your motorhome.

If you require a ball mount, make sure to determine your rise and drop before buying a ball mount. I have a help article attached that explains Ball Mount Basics: How to Measure for Trailer Hitch Drop.
