Trailer Wiring Adapter for Reverse Lockout on Trailer with Surge Brakes

I need a 7 round or 5 flat wiring harness for boat trailer surge breaks. Does the wiring connector offer a way to splice in or is there a wiring harness I can use

Does your 2018 Volkswagen Atlas already have a 4-way trailer connector? If so, use part # 20036 to convert it to a 5-way or part # 37185 to a 7-way. Both plug into a 4-way for the lighting functions and then need to be spliced into the VW's reverse light circuit. The 5-way has an extra wire for this and the 7-way uses the purple wire. This will engage your boat trailer's reverse lockout so you can back up without the surge brakes locking up on you.
If your Atlas doesn't already have a 4-way you can still use either adapter. Just add part # 118754 for the 4-way first. It plugs in to a connector in the rear cargo area behind some threshold covers and paneling. Then there's a single wire that's run to the battery and a fuse to insert.
