Can I Open Hatch of 2011 Subaru Outback with Thule Pulse Alpine on the Roof

Question:

I am wondering if there will be hatch interference with my 2011 Subaru Outback and a Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box. I measured the distance between the front crossbar and the hatch, and it is very close to the required distance by Thule. I have factory crossbars. Will it fit? I cant know for sure, because Thules distance requirements do not take into account the style hatch, or the height of the crossbars found on different vehicles. I have attached a photo of my vehicle to make identifying my factory rack system easier. Thank you very much!

The Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box, part # TH613, is too long to open the rear hatch of your 2011 Subaru Outack. If you want to see how close you get I've linked a video that demonstrates it.

For another option, the Thule Pulse Medium, part # TH614, is a little larger capacity at 14 cubic feet. There is plenty of hatch clearance with the Pulse Medium and it's listed as requiring only 42-5/8 inches between the front crossbar and hatch.
