Replacement Suspension Parts Needed for a 5 x 10 Homemade Trailer
Question:
I bought a homemade 5’x10’ trailer. Although the construction of the trailer is excellent, I think they used a boat trailer for reference. The axle is about a foot too far back making the tongue extremely heavy. I now want to move the axle gorward without cutting the existing shackle mounts from the trailer frame. Question is the springs measure 1 3/4” wide and are nit the slipper type. Do you offer spring shackles to fit that width spring? Thanks

We do offer a wide variety of shackle straps, like the 2-5/8" long part # 115052, which you can find on the linked page. These don't just fit certain leaf springs lengths though.
I think you may be talking about hangers for double eye springs. One of our most popular (from the linked selection) is part # 28-5 which is compatible with 1-3/4" leaf springs and is 3-1/4" tall.
I have also a helpful article on positioning the axle that you may be interested in.
