Hitch Extender Availability to fit 1-1/4 inch Hitch
Question:
I am considering using a 1 1/4inch hitch extender so a hitch mounted bike rack will clear the bumper on my 2017 Nissan Rogue. The racks all have expanders on the shank for a tight fit so there is little bouncing or swaying. Will this be defeated by using a 6inch extender?

Hitch extenders aren't ideal solutions for most applications as they add quite a bit of movement and leverage to hitches which puts quite a bit of strain on them. We do have the Brophy 6 inch hitch extender part # HES6 which fits 1-1/4 inch hitches like what you have. This cuts your hitch capacity by 50 percent too which you'd need to keep in mind.
