Is a Converter Box Needed on a 2015 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
I hardwired a 4 flat trailer connector to a jeep Cherokee latitude 2.4l 2wd and the lights on the trailer and car come on just briefly and then go out. Is there a volt limiter and if so is there anyway to bypass it.

The electrical systems on newer vehicles are much more sensitive than years ago. If you are installing a trailer wiring harness on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude then you will need to use a converter box. A converter box will draw power from the battery so that the strain is not on the vehicle's electrical circuit. I cannot be certain this is the reason your lights are coming on and then going out but this would be a good place to start.
I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118605 which is essentially a plug and play option that will not require any splicing. I have attached an install video for you as well.
