Do Class IV Trailer Hitches for 2001 Dodge Ram Short Bed Require Drilling

What trailer hitch will fit a 2001 Dodge Ram short box without having to drill, preferably a Class IV hitch. I have a boat that has 420 tongue weight. I feel the Class III would always be right towards the limits and thinking of getting a bigger boat someday. Thanks

All of the Class IV hitches for your 2001 Dodge Ram short bed like the Curt part # 14001 will require some drilling for installation. I attached an install video for this hitch on a very similar 2001 Dodge Ram similar to yours for you to check out as well.

The #BWHDRH25122 has 35-5/8 inches between mounting holes like what you see in the picture I attached. Since you need larger than than let me know what vehicle you have and I can see which would be best fit.
