Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes Locking Up When Using 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter

I used a 7 way to 6 way adapter for my trailer hookup Truck is 7 way, trailer is 6 way, it locks the trailer brakes. I cut the blue wire on the trailer side but the brakes still lock. why?

The issue you are describing is actually not all that uncommon when working with a trailer side 6-Way connector. This is because there are two different ways that a 6-Way is typically wired and the specific difference has to do with the brake output and 12V circuits. Depending on how your trailer is wired, these two circuits might be swapped when compared to their location on your vehicle side connector.
On your trailer, you will simply want to cut the wires on the center pin and 2:00 pin and run them to the opposite wire and your issue should be resolved!
