How to Use B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount with GM MultiPro Tailgate

Question:

I have 21 Gmc And a 24 gmc both w multi pro tailgates. The 21 clears the hitch, but the tailgate lifts on the 24. I now have a mark from the top oc the ball in my new truck. What is your fix for this. Does the tailgate sit different on the 24 trucks.

Thank you for the photos and sorry to hear about your truck!

The unique design of the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - Compatible with GM MultiPro Tailgate # BWTS20066BMP is that angled section that meets with the shank part of the ball mount. On standard ball mounts that sticks out more and comes into contact with the MultiPro tailgate when that feature is being used.

When you need to use the MultiPro tailgate you still need to make sure the hitch balls are out of the way by either moving them into the stored position or you need to lower the hitch balls so they sit low enough to not come in contact with your tailgate. I'm guessing that the MultiPro tailgate swings down lower on your 2024 model and is why tailgate made contact with your newest truck.

Attached are some photos showing what I described above for you to check out.
