Some vehicle manufacturers do not recommend using chains because of clearance issues. Check the owner's manual of your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 and compare your tire size. I looked up an online copy and it lists specific tire sizes to not use chains on.

With that being said there are parts of the country that legally require you to have tire chains during certain times of the year or certain weather conditions. This is where the discretion falls on the driver because the manufacturer says you can't use them, but the law says you must.

If you do have a restriction stated by GM I recommend being as cautious as possible when choosing and installing them. Some chains are considered Class S compatible, which means they require less clearance than others. To recommend specific chains for you I'll need your truck's tire size. If you can get back to me with the information and the application you need them for I can make a specific recommendation for you.

Since clearance may be a concern I recommend the Titan Chain, part # TC2327, that fit your 235/70 R18 sized tires. They're a great quality chain and Class S compatible. Since you said you'll be using the chains offroad you might need a heavier chain. The Titan Chain, part # TC2228SCAM, is a great option because of the square link design. Square links provide the most contact to the ground for better traction. These also have cam tighteners to help with installation. However, they're not Class S compatible so you need more clearance which could be an issue for you. Once again, verify with your owner's manual on any restrictions for chains on your truck. If it states not to use them and you choose to use them anyway because of local laws or just the fear of getting stuck definitely test fit them for clearance at home before you need them.
