Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Toyota RAV4

Question:

I am looking at Class III hitches for my 2018 RAV4. Im considering Curt C13149 This hitch will be used to haul a bike tray with up to three bikes none of which weigh more than 35 lbs. We do have a utility trailer but I have a 1/2-ton truck I use to haul bigger things with. Will this work? It seems to be an easy install. Thanks,

The Curt # C13149 hitch is going to perform great on your 2018 Toyota RAV4. Although the capacity would be beyond what you'd ever need it's nice having something so strong that you'd never have to worry about it.

For trailer wiring the Tekonsha kit part # 118578 would be the way to go as it is a confirmed fit and this is the most reliable brand we offer.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # C13149 will work perfectly for your RAV4 and has more than enough capacity for the motorcycle trailer.

@ChrisR thanks Chris, when I spoke on the phone they were suggesting the curt 13406... is there a specific difference? I.e. under bumper? Tubular? Etc?
