I have a trailer with st205/75r15 tires with load range C mounted on 5-hole 4.5bolt circle. Can load range D or E tires be mounted on these wheels

Before switching to a higher load rated tire, like a load range D or E, you will want to check the weight capacity on your trailer wheels. If you have a steel wheel, the capacity should be stamped on the backside lip of the wheel. If you have an alloy wheel, this rating should be stamped on the back side of the wheel spokes.

From the information I was able to obtain, a load range D tire will have a capacity of 2,150 lbs at 65 PSI.

Another option would be just to upgrade to a wheel and tire package like the Kenda Tires and Wheel, part # AM3S862.

Currently we do not have a load range E tire available in a ST205/75-15.

On any trailer tire you always want to inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi, which you said on your tire was 80 psi. Doing this will give you the best performance, allowing the tire to wear more slowly and give you optimum gas mileage.
