I checked the dimensions and weights and also the towing capacity for a 2012 Volkswagen made to Australian specifications. According to our research, your vehicle can handle up to 2000 lbs un-braked (please confirm with owners manual). So, even if your vehicle was purchased in Australia it MAY be able to become a tow vehicle, however the products that we carry at etrailer are designed to fit vehicles that are designed for the North American market. The above hitch is not a confirmed fit but as long as they have the pre-drilled holes under the groves in the bumper where the cutout is located then the hitch will work. Just make sure you check vehicle beforehand.
