What is the Second Hitch Pin Hole Used for on the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75600
Question:
Reference product: Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Item # 75600 There is an extra threaded hole on the receiver, from what I can tell to firm up/stabilize the ball mount. Is there a special screw that goes in there? Something that could be hand tightened? If there isnt something specific, what is the thread spec?

Expert Reply:
The second pin hole that you are seeing on the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75600, for your 2013 BMW X5, is indeed for the use of a stabilization device.
That second hole was for the Tow Ready J-Pin Stabilization Pin and Barrel Lockset # 63201, however, this part has been discontinued.
