Size of a Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Will the opening on this trailer hitch accommodate Thule bike racks? Previously I had a Toyota Sequoia and the Thule rack fit into the trailer hitch, but I cannot recall the dimensions put on the hitch as it was after market, so I wanted to know if the opening on the side of this hitch was standardized? thx

The Curt Class III hitch, part # C13065 has a 2 by 2 inch hitch that is 2.5 inches from the face of the hitch to the center of its hitch pin hole. Most Thule racks require that the hitch be at least 1-1/2 inches from the face to the center of the hitch pin hole.
I've included a link to our help article about trailer hitch classes and sizes so you can get a better idea of what each hitch class is generally used for. Class III Hitches like the one for your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee are designed for heavier usage like hauling campers, lighter boats and a lot of trailers. This is also the most flexible class in terms of bike racks as it can accept 2, 3, 4 or 5 bike racks.
