Installing Trailer Wiring Harness # 118653 in a 2010 Nissan Murano
Question:
1 Is the power line direct to the battery only to provide circuit protection with the in-line fuse i.e. will the system operate correctly without it albeit without the additional protection? 2 Could the power be picked up at another hot source e.g. there is a 12 vdc receptacle in the aft cargo compartment. Could this be used?

When wiring the T-One Connector w/Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite, # 118653, the converter requires a direct connection to the vehicle battery via a plug and wire that is already present at the back of the vehicle. If it is not connected to the battery, it will not work. The power from the trailer lights comes from this connection. You will not have to manually route any wiring for this power wire connection.
