Correct Seal Size for Dexter 8-213 Hubs with 25580 and LM67048 Bearings

Question:

I have a dexter 8-213 hub on my trailer. The info on the your site for this hub shows a 10-10 seal. Your kit with the bearings and races shows a 10-36 seal. Which is correct? The bearings are 25580 and LM67048. Do I need to measure my axle to be sure or are all Dexter 8-213 the same? Tnx for the help.

You will want to measure to be certain. The smaller 10-10 seal # RG06-090 in the # 8-213-5UC1-EZ hub assembly kit has an inner diameter of 2.125 inches and an outer diameter of 3.376 inches. This seal is more commonly found with hubs that use outer bearing # LM67048, because these are the 5,200 lb hubs. This seal hasn't been around as long as the larger seal, and so it is not yet included with any bearing kit.

The larger 10-36 seal # RG06-070 in the bearing kit # BK3-300, which has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches and outer diameter of 3.376 inches, is more commonly found with hubs that use the outer bearings # 14125A and # 15123, because these are the 7,000 and 8,000 lb hubs. However, it's always best to measure first to make sure you get the correct seal.

I've attached a few review videos of these products for you to check out as well as an image showing how to measure for your grease seal.
