When installing the Tow Package Wiring Harness, item # 118241, on a 2001 Ford Explorer XLT 4 door you will need to use the tow harness connector on the right side of the vehicle. The connector on the other side, while it looks very similar, will not accept the connector for the Tow Package harness.
If the connector on your vehicle does not work or will not accept the connector on the Tow Package Wiring Harness, item # 118241, you will need the T-One Wiring Harness, item # 118345, to add a 4-Way connection at the rear of your Explorer.
