I see videos for the MANUAL install on a 2012 Ridgeline, but no video of the PL8600 that uses your existing electronic key fob that I can find.

To configure the locking mechanism on your 2012 Honda Ridgeline with the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8600, you will need to make two connections. The first connection involves attaching the green wire (lock) from the tailgate lock to the yellow/black wire on the vehicle's harness in addition to connecting the blue wire (unlock) on the tailgate lock to the yellow/green wire on the vehicle's wiring harness.

Once these connections are made, the tailgate lock will work in unison with the factory key fob. If you are still having problems with the functions of the tailgate lock after this is done, please let me know and I would be glad to provide further assistance.
