Trailer Hitch Extension to Keep Trailer From Contacting Truck During Turns
Question:
How long has to be my trailer tongue if the with of my truck is 98inches and extend 19 inches from the hitch hole out. Do I need a hitch extention to of how many inches.

Expert Reply:
You want to make sure the hitch ball is out past the furthest point of the truck.
An 18 inch extender like the Curt # C45796 will reach most of the way to the edge of the truck. Then any ball mount will make up the rest. We have a ball mount kit, # 989900, that includes two different ball mounts and hitch balls that may work for you. Depending on the rise or drop you need, if any, with your trailer.
