Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Ball, and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2007 Acura MDX
Question:
What is the difference between the available trailer hitches you have for the 2007 Acura MDX? The all have similar specs but different prices.

Expert Reply:
You are correct that the trailer hitches for a 2007 Acura MDX are all very similar. All of them have a 400 pound tongue weight capacity and 4,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity. All can be used with weight distribution to bring the capacity of the hitch up to 500/5,000 pounds. And all of them install in much the same way with an estimated installation time of 30 minutes.
Really, all of the companies make their hitches to meet or exceed the standards of the department of transportation. All of the hitches are are made in the USA and are fully welded steel to provide strength and durability. All of these hitches have received high ratings from our customers, so you cannot really go wrong.
If I had to choose, I would go with the Draw-Tite or Hidden Hitch because they have been leaders in the towing industry for many years. I have included a link to the installation details for hitch # 75614 and I have also included a video showing installation.
To complete your towing set up, the recommended ball mount is #C45010 and pin and clip # PC3. For a ball, you can use # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter), # 19247 (2 inch diameter), and # 63847 (2-5/16 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, you would need T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118424. I have included a link to the installation details and a video installation for reference.
