Getting Error Codes On 2016 Ford F-250 When Installing LED Trailer Lights

Question:

I purchased the Bargman LED double tail light 47-84-610. I watched the installation video and no mention was made of the Putco LED Light Bulb Load-Resistor Kit - Ceramic being needed. f I only discovered that when I tried to figure out why I was getting fault codes on my f250. And the instruction sheet would not load because Chrome thinks it is coming from an unsafe site, and even if I say load it anyway all I get is a black screen. So I think I need two of those kits and install them on the circuit that green I think that controls the turn signals. Or do I need to put two on each side 4 total of the trailer one for the regular lamps and one for the turn/stop lamps

since 2015, Ford has changed their wiring in their trucks and it has been causing several different issues including the problem you are having with installing the LED lights.

Resistors like the LED Kit, part # DI34ZR are not always needed and it is recommended to install the lights like part # 47-84-610 first to see if any hyperflashing occurs. On the Ford trucks error codes may pop up as well and the resistors may work to resolve the issue. You would need a resistor for the Green wire for the tail light, and a resistor for the Black wire which is the turn and brake light. So a total of four resistors will be needed.

Ford has said the issue may be resolved by installing an aftermarket trailer harness. I know this is not great news to hear but the issues are a result of the Ford truck wiring and not the fault of the LED lights. If you install the resistors and the problem still exists, you can let me know and I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
