Comparing Curt & Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitches for 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Question:
Considering a hitch for a 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek. Questions: 1 Curt vs Draw-Tite is one better than the other 2 Do you have one that installs thru the Bumper Plastic Opening?

Expert Reply:
The hitch I recommend for your 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is the 2-inch Class III Draw-Tite # 76084. Unlike the Curt # C13135, the Draw-Tite does not require you to use a support strap # 18050 with non-trailer loads like bike and cargo carriers. Both will install under your rear bumper fascia as shown in the linked video. The hitch comes with all required installation hardware.
Both brands produce a quality hitch and both share the same weight capacities but the USA-made Curt's powder coating does seem to sometimes hold up better than that on the Draw-Tite hitches. Still, any hitch will periodically require a little touch-up with some anti-corrosive spray paint to help keep it rust-free.
