Truck Bed Camper Tie-Downs for 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Is it acceptable to use stake pocket tie downs for an 8 foot camper on a 2013 Silverado? I have been told the truck metal is to thin to adequately hold the tie downs.

I haven't heard of a specific issue like that with the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. But there is truth that stake pocket tie-downs are not as secure as clamp on tie-downs. There's a lot pulling on the tie-downs and with the stake pocket design there's a lot of movement and chance of damage to the truck.

We have a couple options by Brophy, # HSSF and # HSAB.

Both are better than a stake pocket tie-down.
