Alternate Shank for Weight Distribution System to Keep Trailer Level
Question:
I recently purchased a travel trailer and I will be ordering the C17345 hitch. The travel trailer has a max load rating of 3500lbs. The problem I am having is that the hitch on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee is very tall. I have an 8inch hitch to use when driving my everyday work trailer around which has almost identical sized tires as the camper. Can I purchase a new ball mount like the MT70067 to get my travel trailer to sit level when on the Jeep? Or do they make an adjustable mount to be used with the C17345 that has more adjustment?

The Curt weight distribution (WD) system # C17050 does include a shank which installs in your hitch receiver and suspends the system's head assembly. It is possible to select a WD system that does NOT include a shank, which allows you to choose one with the appropriate rise or drop to keep your hitched trailer level. Or you can simply choose a second shank from the linked page, such as Curt shank # C17124, which offers up to 10-inches of drop.
The linked page displays all WD systems that have built-in sway control (SC) but that do not include the shank component.
