There are a couple reasons the 12V hot lead pin may not have power on your trailer connector. The first thing that you will want to do is to check to make sure that the wiring for the power is actually plugged into the battery power. This is typically done by using a ring terminal on one of the battery terminals on your 2010 Winnebago Impulse.
Another step to take early on in the troubleshooting process is to see if your E-450 has a fuse for the trailer power. If there is a fuse dedicated to this function, you will want to make sure that the fuse is in good condition and has not blown. If the fuse has blown, replacing it may be all you need to do to get power at your trailer connector.
If it looks like that wiring has been connected and the fuse is in working order, then you will want to move on to checking the wiring on your Winnebago. Locate the wire that is connected to the power pins (middle pin for a 6-way harness and 1 o'clock position for 7-way harness) and trace it all the way to the battery looking for damaged, corrosive, or exposed wiring. If you find a section that needs to be replaced you can use a new section of wire in place of the damaged section. For 10 Gauge Wire you can use part # 10-1-1, or for 12 Gauge wire you can use part # 12-1-1 to fix the issue.
Some vehicles have their wiring ran through the chassis at some point, making it hard to trace the full length of the wire. If that is the case with your Winnebago, you might not be able to tell if certain areas of wiring actually need to be replaced. In this case, it might just be easier to run some 10 Gauge wiring, part 10-1-1, from your battery to the power pin location on your wiring harness. If you do this, you will need to install a 40-Amp Circuit Breaker, like part # PK54540 along that wiring as well. Most people install it under the hood next to the battery.
