Recommendation for a Receiver Hitch to Fit a 2014 Volkswagen Passat TDI

I found a hitch that will work for your 2014 Volkswagen Passat TDI.
The Draw-Tite Class I Receiver Hitch, # 24880, is the hitch that I recommend for you vehicle. The Draw-Tite hitch is custom-fit for your 2014 Volkswagen and will install to the frame of your Passat with using existing holes. No frame drilling will be required with this Draw-Tite hitch.
The Draw-Tite hitch has a 200 lbs tongue rating and has the 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. If you are looking for a hitch accessory, like a bike rack, be advised that on this hitch you will need the 1-1/4 inch mounting shank to mount a rack to the hitch. Also Class I hitches are limited to carrying only 2 bikes.
The feature that I like the most about the Draw-Tite hitch over the other hitch we carry your vehicle, Curt # C11234, is the Draw-Tite hitch does not require the use of a stabilization strap. The Curt hitch requires the use of a stabilizer strap when using the hitch in non-towing applications. Many customers find using the strap cumbersome and fear it might damage the paint on their vehicle. With the Draw-Tite hitch you will not need to the use of a stabilization strap.
