Overall Measurements of Foot and Where to Weld on Bulldog 2K Snap-Ring Swivel Jack
Question:
What is the size of the foot for this jack and the plate that is welded on? The frame that it will be welded on to is 4.25inch high. If the plate is 5inch and frame 4.25inch will that still be ok to weld?

Expert Reply:
I went out to the warehouse to measure Bulldog trailer jack # BD151101. The overall length and width of the footplate is 7-1/2 x 4 inches.
The part that gets welded to the trailer is L-Shaped. The lip that rests on top of the frame it 4-9/16 inches long and 13/16 inches deep. I would weld the lip to the top of the frame the whole length. On the sides you can weld two 1 inch long 3/16 fillet welds per side of the plate.
