Does Bulldog Jack 151101 Have Weight Capacity for 7,800 lb Trailer

Question:

We purchased a trailer set up for cleaning sidewalks last year with this jack on it The jack no longer works and the trailer manufacturer is telling us this jack is adequate for the weight of the trailer-7800 lbs. and will offer no replacement. We question if this jack is adequate especially when you add 300 gallons of water to the trailer. Do you have a replacement jack that is rated for more weight that can replace the Bulldog 151101 without having to make any mounting changes? Thank you

Trailer jacks over time do sometimes fail and the issue is not that they were overloaded. Most of the time it's corrosion that gets into the nut and screw which eventually locks up the assembly. The Bulldog jack # BD151101 that you referenced has a lifting capacity of 2,000 lbs which would be more than you'd need for your trailer that would have about half of that as tongue weight.

In this style of jack 2,000 lbs is about as high capacity as you are going to find. Since you are wanting a jack that's going to fit the same mount you'd be best served with another # BD151101 for an easy install that would have the capacity needed.
