The first step in controlling trailer sway is to make sure that you have properly loaded your trailer. If your trailer load is too far back towards the rear of the trailer, then trailer sway is more likely to happen while towing. You want to load your trailer heavier at the front.

If you have loaded your trailer correctly and you are still experiencing trailer sway, then you may want to look at installing a friction sway control kit, like the Reese Kit # 83660. This friction sway control kit installs on the tongue of your trailer and connects between the trailer and the hitch ball mount of your vehicle. You will also need the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 to connect the small ball that is included in the Reese sway kit.

You will have to contact the manufacturer of the your trailer to see you can install the Reese Friction Sway Control Bar to the aluminum frame of your trailer. Many times manufacturers will state that there will not be an issue, but I would still contact them to make sure there will be no issues in drilling holes into the frame in install the sway control unit.

The Reese Friction Sway Kit uses metal on metal friction from inside the sway bar to help control the back and forth movement of your trailer. The Reese Friction Sway Control Bar is also adjustable so you can set the amount of friction that is applied when the friction bar is being used.

I have included an article on the weight distribution and sway control, and a video that show the Reese Friction Sway Control being installed for you to review.
