Recommended Axle and Leaf Springs for a Harbor Freight 4x8 Foot Folding Trailer Model 90154

Question:

Hello - I have a Harbor Freight 4X8 folding/tilt trailer model 90154. Id like to completely replace the axle and leafsprings. Hub-face-to-hub-face length is 60 inches and spring-center-to-spring-center length is 48 inches. Id also like the axle hub to have 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern. Can you please point me to all the products I would need to do that? I dont need any axle above 2,200 lbs.

I recommend # 20545I-EZ-60-10 Dexter Idler Trailer Axle w/ Hubs - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,200 lbs. I like this axle because of the EZ-Lube simple lubrication. You will also want to pick up a U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-10 for mounting your axle. Please check out the attached installation video for additional info.

I was able to track down the specs for your trailer on-line and found that it uses slipper springs, so you'll want to go with one of the following. Choose the part number that is approximately 1 inch shorter than your old slipper springs, to account for wear and sag. Your measurement will be taken from the center of spring eye to end of the spring.

# SP-179275 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Flat End for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long

# SP-039275 3-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Flat End for 2,900-lb Trailer Axles - 30" Long
