4-Way to 7-Way Adapter Recommendation for Jeep Wrangler for Charging Trailer Battery
Question:
My Jeep Wrangler has a 4 way connector and my T@G trailer has a 7 way connector. The trailer doesnt have power brakes but does have a battery for 12 VDC power. Do I just hook up the 4 way, the white to ground and the black wire to the inline fuse and then the battery? Will that charge the battery when connected and driving? Would it drain the Jeep battery when parked or should I unplug it to avoid that? Thanks

The part # 30717 would be exactly what you would need to start with to install a 7-way on your Jeep Wrangler that has a 4-way. You would need to ground the white wire and then run the black wire up to the positive post of the battery using 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) through a breaker like part # 9510.
If parked for a short period of time your vehicle battery would not get drained but if you planned to park it over night and your trailer battery was pretty weak I would recommend disconnecting it.
