Can a Wheel That Uses 1/2 Inch Wheel Studs Be Used on a Trailer that Uses 7/16 Inch Studs
Question:
Can I use a wheel from a trailer with 1/2 studs on a trailer with 7/16 studs? The bolt center on both is 5.5 inch and the center bore is 5.625 inch. If this wheel can be used will I have to use lug nuts with the same socket wrench size as the as the 1/2 nuts or will the existing lug nuts be OK. Thanks, Jerry

In this situation I would actually recommend just replacing the wheel studs themselves. The studs on your current hubs should be able to be knocked out, working at the front side of the hub. That way, you would be able to compare your current studs to ones offered with the 1/2 inch diameter and replace them.
You can get a good idea of how the measurements are taken by looking at the diagram on the product page for 1/2 inch wheel stud # RG03-040.
I am including a link to all the 1/2 inch wheel studs we offer.
