Better Solution than Air Bags for 2000 Chevy Silverado Towing 30 ft Camper Trailer

i am looking for air ride air bags..extra support for my 2000 chevy silverdo 1500 2wd to pull my 30foot bumper pull travel trailer. i was on your page that showed 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Suspension Enhancements, and my question is, how hard is it to install? need special tools? we only know these exist and sounds ideal for what i need for a 2000 mile trip..one way. unless theres something i can get that is temporary..seems high for something to use once, yet, lower than any damages that i might incur my pickup..im a newbie

I have a much better solution for you than suspension enhancement for towing your bumper pull travel trailer. What you would want is a weight distribution system instead. A WD system also works to level the suspension of your truck, but since it does this by redistributing some of the tongue weight of the trailer up to the front axle of the tow vehicle you get improved braking and handling. This is especially helpful in emergency situations. While there is some setup time for a WD system it's not a permanent install like suspension enhancement.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Once you know your tongue weight you will want to check out the link I attached that has all of the weight distribution systems we carry. You will be able to select your tongue weight from the filters to see what would be rated for your setup.
For an air bag kit though, we have the part # F2190 for your vehicle that would work well for heavy weight in the bed of the truck.
