Today we're taking a look at a replacement deadbolt door latch. Now, this unit replaces the door latch on Valterra deadbolts with a two and three quarter inch backset. To determine your backset, there's a little viewing window right here with a number etched, and that number says two and three quarter inches. And so that lets us know that this is a direct replacement for the deadbolt with a two and three quarter inch backset. It's a direct replacement, straight from the original manufacturer. It's made from durable steel components, features a corrosion resistant design to keep it safe from the elements.
Once fully installed, whenever you operate your actual latch mechanism, you can see here that that will kick out just like the original. Really nice fluid motion, no kinking, no binding, very smooth design.Few measurements I want to go over with you real quick. This mount plate right here, edge to edge, is about two and one quarter inches. Side to side it's about one inch. And then those mount holders separated on center by about one and five eighths inches.
