Which Wheel and Tires are Recommended for Tire Size 205/75-15

Question:

I have a single axle travel trailer with a gross weight of 3500. It has 14 inch load range c tires at the tires limit. I was thinking of going with a 15 inch d tire to gain a higher load rating as well as side wall ply rating. If I went to a 205/75 15 what rim would i go with 15x5 or 15x6? I notice that the 15x6 size rim matches the weight limit of the tire better than the 15x5. @1700 vs 2150. what do you think of this plan? I thank you in advance,

You should note that you cannot increase the overall weight capacity of a trailer just by increasing the capacity of the wheels and tires unless they were the limiting factor.

The wheel and tire you would want would depend on the bolt pattern of your current wheels. With that info you can check out the link I attached that will take you to a page that has all of the 205/75-15 tires and wheels we carry that I would recommend. The Taskmaster radials that are at that link have a higher speed rating than other brands so they are the ones I recommend most. The combos at the link are 5 an 6 inches in width.

I attached a help article on how to determine the bolt pattern of a wheel for you to check out too.
