How to Determine Which Fastway Weight Distribution Best for 2003 Honda Odyssey Towing R-Pod
Question:
2003 Honda Odyssey with R-pod 180 2800 dry weight and 290 hitch weight. My hitch receiver is quite low, therefore I am assuming that a Trunnion system is most appropriate. Do I need to go to the 600 model or is the 450 more than adequate? The empty weight of the of the trailer is 2717 and the GVWR is 3880

You are correct that the Trunnion bars will give you the best ground clearance for your R-Pod trailer and 2003 Honda Odyssey.
When picking out a weight distribution you want to do it based on the loaded tongue weight, which also includes the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle. Typically it is 10-15 percent of your Gross Trailer Weight (GTW). For your fully loaded 3,880 lbs. R-Pod that could be 271-582 lbs. of tongue weight.
Since the towing capacity of your Honda Odyssey is 3,500lbs, I recommend the Fastway 450 # FA92-00-0450 over the 600 model because it will suit your vehicle and R-Pods needs just great, with its 100-450lbs tongue weight range.
The only additional item you will need to complete your weight distribution system is the hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank like the 2 inch ball # 40038 or the 1-7/8 inch ball # 19260.
I have linked all the above mentioned parts to this page for your convenience.
